New Gosport Service

Swain & Co Solicitors have won a National Bid to provide legal advice in relation to Community Care and related matters and are now bringing that service to Gosport for the first time.
The new service started on Monday 20 April 2009 and involves free advice sessions at the Gosport Voluntary Action Group, 96 Pavillion Way, Gosport, (next door to Gosport Citizens Advice Bureau) from 1-4pm each Monday. The service operates on a drop in basis.
The successful bid covers Community Care advice in 3 counties in Hampshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. “The bid was based on expertise not price” said Managing Partner Graeme Swain.
The Legal Services Commission recognises Swain & Co’s expertise as a ‘one stop shop’ for Community Care Law and Legal Aid problems.
Kelly Evans (pictured above) originally from Gosport will be heading up the service and stated ‘Many people do not understand their community care rights and therefore many people are suffering unnecessarily. People do not realise that if they or a member of their family has disabilities, care needs or are elderly, they may be entitled to support or services from Social Services. Many people experience difficulties in obtaining the level of support they need and we will advise people as to what they are entitled to and the support they rightly require.’
Cherry Everitt, an existing client from Gosport commented ‘There is nothing like this in the area, nothing really in Hampshire, not advice centres people can just drop in to. At least Gosport will now get this opportunity, it is much needed.’
Swain & Co also holds specialist Legal Aid contracts in Housing, Clinical Negligence, Mental Health, Personal Injury, Crime, Prison Law, Welfare Benefits and Education.
Free first advice is available and the firm has a freephone number. To make contact call on 0800 298 6479.
