A poll by the charity Parity has revealed that 40% of incidences of physically domestic abuse are domestic violence against men.
Swain & Co.’s specialist family law and domestic violence lawyers say that domestic violence does not just have female victims, men are also affected. We commend the highlighting of the awareness of male domestic violence victims in Coronation Street and by the poll.
Often male victims are too scared to tell others what is happening and cover up injuries sustained, feeling powerless and loss in a vicious cycle of domestic violence.
It is time for this problem to be treated as seriously as violence against women.
It is not a sign of a weak man that is abused by their female partner, but a sign of a real man that does not resort to violence in response.
Do not suffer violence in silence – male and female victims of domestic violence can seek help and Swain & Co. solicitors have an emergency text and call 24hour phone number so you can get the help you need anytime of the day and night.
