We require an administrative assistant to assist our Prison Law department.
We are a busy multi-disciplinary law practice who carry out a mixture of Legal Aid and private work. This vacancy is for an assistant based in our Prison Law department. The role includes but is not limited to: point of contact on the telephone/answering phone for the department. This will include new enquiries, taking detailed messages, answering basic queries, seeing to clients who attend the office, taking their enquiry and making appointments. Collecting and distributing post as well as preparing post to be sent out in the afternoon. Significant administrative duties, to include photocopying, typing, collating documents and other general administrative duties as and when required.
Previous administrative assistants have gone on the become Legal Assistants as well as future lawyers. There are opportunities to take on more responsibilities for the right candidate.
Good time keeping – must attend on time each day. Good telephone manner to be able to greet clients.
Good note taking skills to take messages which could be about complex matters. A willingness to learn new skills.
Efficient and able to adopt to a good pace of work.
Good level of English language and attention to grammar.
Friendly disposition, personable and team player.
