#TimetoTalk
Thursday 5th February is ‘Time to Talk Day’. Despite 1 in 4 of us suffering from a mental health problem in any given year, nearly 9 out of 10 of those people say they face stigma and discrimination as a result. Time to Change is England's biggest programme to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination, run by the leading mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.
Time to Talk Day’s aim is to get as many people across the United Kingdom to take 5 minutes out of their day to talk about mental health, wherever you may be, whether that is in the community, at home with your family and friends, at work, or online over social media. It is likely that if a colleague broke a leg, we would immediately ask how they were. We would like this reaction to physical health issues to be the case for mental health issues as well. We all can help to break the silence surrounding the topic of mental health.
Swain & Co Solicitors LLP is taking the pledge on Thursday 5th February to help end mental health discrimination. We are taking 5 minutes to have a conversation about mental health at work and online. Look out for our video on www.swainandco.com.
Lets break the silence together. Join us and make the pledge today, “It’s time to talk, it’s time to change.”
