Graeme Swain is a specialist in Clinical Negligence and Public Law and he is the firm’s Managing Director.
Graeme qualified as a Solicitor in 1980 and was the founding Partner of Swain & Co.
He has a strong belief in access to justice for all; a founding principle of Swain & Co. Solicitors.
He was voted onto the Committee of the Legal Aid Practitioners Group (LAPG) in October 2012.
The LAPG positively fight any unjust Government decision or policies wherever legal aid protection is threatened.
LAPG is the only real representative body for Legal Aid Practitioners and plays a crucial role in lobbying for change, representing practitioners in Legal Aid issues and providing important training to Legal Aid practitioners.
Graeme says, “I am a specialist particular in Clinical Negligence and Health Law and have a track record of handling and winning complex and difficult cases. I have dealt with the widest possible range of clinical negligence cases; everything from cerebral palsy to delays in diagnosing cancer and negligence resulting in bed sores.
I understand how important it is to victims of medical negligence to find out what went wrong and, where appropriate, to obtain compensation that can be life changing. I am passionate about this vital area of work that I carry out.”
Graeme is a member of the Law Society specialist Clinical Negligence Panel and a senior litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He has held membership of the Action Against Medical Accidents Clinical Negligence Panel.
He is a long time supporter of Action Against Medical Accidents and has attended its annual conference for around 20 years. He has a reputation for “going the extra mile” when investigating cases.
Sensitivity and a caring approach are central to the way Graeme conducts his work.
Graeme has handled a huge range of medical claims and has extensive medical knowledge and a network of independent experts.
He has a degree in Law (LLB) and very extensive experience.
Outside the office his interests are focused on family and friends, sport, photography and collecting fossils. His wife says that his work always comes first!
