Swain & Co Solicitors team up with Greater Manchester Law Centre

Swain & Co Solicitors are happy to announce that we are working with the Greater Manchester Law Centre in all aspects of Prison Law.

Simon Green, Prison Law Solicitor at Swain & Co Solicitors, says, “It can be difficult when a loved one or friend is imprisoned as many issues can arise which require legal assistance to resolve.”

As part of our partnership with Greater Manchester Law Centre, we are pleased to offer a drop in clinic. Family members of prisoners can seek FREE legal advice. The dates for clinics will be advertised through Greater Manchester Law Centre website and also on our Facebook Pages (Swain & Co Solicitors and Greater Manchester Law Centre Facebook Page).

Issues we can help with include:

  • Parole Reviews
  • Hearing before the Parole Board
  • Hearing before the Independent Adjudicator
  • Governor Adjudications
  • Sentence Progression
  • Appealing initial sentence
  • Appealing conviction
  • Re-categorisation
  • Transfer
  • Resettlement

Simon explains a few issues prisoners can face that we can assist with, “From prisoners facing Parole reviews and hearings before the Parole Board to hearings before an Independent Adjudicator following alleged breaches of the Prison Rules which could lead to prisoners spending longer in custody that prescribed by their initial sentence.”
