Irene Brady works in our Medical Negligence and Personal Injury department as a legal secretary.

“I have worked for several firms of solicitors in a wide variety of fields.  Throughout this time I have specialised in medical negligence, personal injury and industrial disease. This is the area that I enjoy the most.

When I was unable to specialise in these fields any longer, Swain & Co Solicitors offered a role where I could continue to work in the areas of law where my enthusiasm and experience lies.

As an added bonus, I get to explore a new area of law with the Mental Health work the firm does. I have a keen interest in mental health having previously worked as a personal assistant to a couple who owned residential homes for those with mental health issues.

It was at this time that I helped one of the Managers with his thesis on Autism. With access to his vast library of books, I was able to delve further into the subject and have continued to study Autism ever since.”

Irene also works in her spare time providing advanced first aid at events throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Married with a daughter and two grandsons, Irene loves to bake (we have benefitted from yummy cakes in the office) and she decorates them too!

She also enjoys reading and spending time at her allotment.
