Melanie specialises in Medical Negligence, Personal Injury and Mental Health cases.
Qualifying as a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in November 1996, Melanie now has over 20 years experience in the law.
She joined Swain & Co Solicitors in March 2006 as a senior fee earner at the firm’s Southampton office before moving to Havant in 2012.
In 2013 Melanie became a Senior Associate of Swain & Co Solicitors and in 2015 was delighted to be offered the opportunity to head the Litigation department.
Melanie has a wide experience of injury claims. Her tactical awareness and technical knowledge means that Melanie can pursue even the most difficult cases.
Melanie is an able and determined advocate representing her clients effectively and eloquently, giving a voice to the needs and views of the most vulnerable. Melanie has been accepted onto the Law Society Mental Health Panel and regularly represents the interests of her clients before the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

In her spare time Melanie works with charities and the local community. She takes part in charity events and has previously abseiled down the Spinnaker Tower for Hampshire Autistic Association. Melanie has supported The Rainbow Centre in Fareham, Hampshire volunteering for them on their fundraising days.
Melanie is a busy parent of two and is proud to be a Parent Governor at the children’s school and, in particular, providing link governance for Safeguarding and RPE.
