Job Information

The Youngs Group of Companies are currently seeking a highly talented and enthusiastic individual to join their Prison Law team.   Due to continued growth, we are happy to consider applications from any UK geographical location.

Assisting in a variety of matters related to Prison Law with main responsibilities being, but not limited to:

  • Legal casework;
  • Attending clients both by way of video conferencing, attendance at Prisons, taking instructions and preparing cases;
  • Dealing with correspondence;
  • Representing clients at Parole Hearings;
  • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures;
  • Implementing any recommendations made by the supervisor following monthly file reviews ensuring that these are dealt with promptly.

Experience and Attributes

The successful individual is likely to have:

  • Solicitor/FCILEx status or working towards this
  • Gained some experience in a Prison Law team
  • The ability to work unsupervised (after training),
  • Be familiar with Legal Aid applications
  • Good self-motivational skills, and;
  • Be reliable
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications.

This is a full-time role which provides long-term development and progression in a firm who has exciting plans for the future and offers salaries which reflect skills and experience obtained, recognises and rewards on achievements and milestones etc.

Some flexibility and remote working will be available to the successful candidate after satisfactory completion of probation, however there will be the requirement to attend an allocated base office at least 1 day a week.
