Work this Way is a charity based at Ford Prison which is piloting a new eco-friendly scheme.
The trial project is collecting used domestic cooking oil from residents inEast Prestonand recycling it into bio fuels. Prisoners at Ford Prison have been trained to carry out the process.
Work this Way aims to cut re-offending amongst prisoners at Ford by offering training and work experience as inmates approach the end of their sentence.
Swain & Co.’s specialist Prison Law team support the work that the charity is carrying out. If you give the inmates the tools they need to equip them to work, find them jobs when they leave prison then reoffending is reduced.
Open condition prisons such as Ford are intended to get prisoners ready for release, and it is important that this involves training and on-going support as well as tools to use back in the community.
Our specialist Prison Law team work with prisoners on multiple issues such as sentencing progression (including transfer from closed to open prison), adjudications, parole, recalls, appeals, re-categorisation, judicial review and so much more. We are experts in Prison Law and Prisoners’ Rights. If you have a loved one or friend in prison that could benefit from expert representation, please call Swain &Co.now:-
