Genetics is the passing of traits from parents to offspring. Sometimes there can be a ‘missed’ genetic diagnosis.
Genetic tests can be carried out on adults and children, sometimes during pregnancy. These tests can confirm the presence of a disease and whether that person is a ‘carrier’ of the disease, and may pass it on.
