Adrian Syms is a health law specialist and a passionate advocate of patients' rights.
Adrian's job is to help people who have suffered an avoidable problem during their medical treatment. People have a right to know what happened. Most people want to find out why problems have occurred, help prevent similar problems in the future and recover the compensation they deserve.
Adrian has experience dealing with clinical negligence claims including birth injury and cerebral palsy; birth mismanagement and Erb’s palsy; accident and emergency claims; fatal accident claims and representation at inquests; spinal injury claims; psychiatric negligence claims; orthopaedic claims including missed fractures; surgical claims as well as a wide range of other failure to diagnose and treat cases.
Adrian also a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Tribunal Panel which means that he regularly represent those seeking discharge at Tribunal hearings as well as assisting people in their request for treatment, complaints surrounding medical treatment and securing after-care to assist with reintegration into the community. Adrian has experience in challenging Health Authorities for failing to provide treatment.
Adrian believes his clients should be at the centre of any investigation. Cases can be complex and require specialist investigation, if necessary with use of leading independent experts. It is important that we keep all of our clients fully informed about the developments in their case and that we strive to provide a quality service.
Adrian has a Masters Degree in Law and is a specialist Mental Health Law Solicitor in the firm.
His interests include a range of sports including football and shooting. He is a Great Britain International in pistol shooting and was a National Champion in 2011. Also Adrian was the British Air Pistol Champion 2013 and current British and English National Champion in 10m Air Pistol.
