Jake Stokes works in our Prison Law department, assisting our expert lawyers with the wide scope of matters, from recatergorisation through to Judicial Reviews.
At school, Jake enjoyed creative writing and went on to study journalism at College. Whilst working at The Portsmouth News, he completed an NCTJ diploma in Journalism.
He’d particularly enjoyed studying media law for his diploma and always had an interest in law. On seeing an advert for Swain & Co Solicitors, Jake recognised the opportunity for a great experience that working in Prison Law would bring.
Judicial Review is one of Jake’s favourite cases to work on. He says,
“I like working on Judicial Review cases as they are extremely interesting. It has the ability to really affect the way public bodies are run and it also holds them to account for their actions.”
Jake also enjoys the human rights aspects that arise from JR cases.
In his spare time, Jake really enjoys listening to music, playing poker and chess, and skateboarding.
