Shannon joined Swain & Co Solicitors in September 2020 shortly after graduating from the University of Southampton with a first in her LLB Law with International Legal Studies degree. She now directly assists the Head of the Prison and Public Law Department as well as the other lawyers in the team.
Whilst at University, Shannon’s studies focussed on criminal law, human rights, family law and youth justice; she also produced a dissertation that analysed the effectiveness of the UK prison system, alongside a comparison with other European countries. She also became involved with organisations such as JENGBA whilst at university.
Shannon spent a year studying at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she developed a keen interest in Immigration and Aboriginal Law and the Law of Armed Conflict and Humanitarianism. She has also spent time living in Australia and is an avid traveller.
Her role at Swain & Co is to assist clients with their Prison Law needs and she is passionate about assisting clients with matters including parole, categorisation, and human rights issues.
In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her friends and family, listening to music, and going to the theatre.
